What does a 25 year old want Botox for?

This was the question I got asked a lot when I first had the Botox injections- Many moons ago now!

The reason being prevention is the key, smoothing out those fine lines and the start of wrinkles is a very simple procedure, however it does become much tougher to get the same smooth results the later you leave it, although this is still possible, preventing those deeper larger lines in the first place is key!

Whereas if you start early paralysing those muscles the skin stays much smoother and more youthful for much longer. As the lines on our faces are a result of movement over time. And like a lot of us, I love the sun so for me it was an obvious prevention.

I am very lucky to have the lovely Nora who works at Upper Berkeley Dental care as a hygienist. She’s extremely professional and her very caring nature put me at ease straight away, and does each injection very gently, barley feeling any of them.

They do sometimes bruise, but these are not too noticeable and will soon go.

It is very important on the day of treatment not to do physical exercise afterwards- which means a day off the gym!! And no alcohol either.

Nora talked me through the whole procedure and gave me all the do’s and don’ts. And happily answered any of my questions, as if you’re anything like me I like lots of reassurance.

The whole procedure took no more than 30 minutes, and the best part is there is no down time, so I could go straight back to work. I did have a few red spots initially, but these faded within the hour. However it is important not to wear make-up after the procedure.
